Winnie H. Guthrie's Obituary
Winnie Hope Lambert Guthrie was born on May 1, 1928 in Lorado, West Virginia and went to be with her Savior on August 14, 2013. “To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord.” She was preceded in death by her husband (Joseph L. Guthrie) of 66 years as well as her parents, Thomas and Evelyn Lambert; her brother, Tommy Lambert; her sisters, Mary Guthrie, Mae Biliter and Matilda Ceisla. She leaves to cherish her memory her children, Deborah Guthrie Hill (Jimmy) of Estero, Florida, Konnie Guthrie Cook (Roger) Taylor of Michigan and Joseph L. Guthrie II (Carol) of Jacksonville, Florida. Winnie had nine grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. Her siblings, Alva Lambert McCoy of Rio Grande, Ohio, Margaret Lambert McKinney of Sebring, Florida, Dan Lambert of Columbus, Ohio and Tracy Lambert of Gainesville, Florida. As a retired elementary school teacher she served her Lord both in the public school and in children’s church. Funeral services will be at the First Baptist Church Naples, 3000 Orange Blossom Dr., Naples, Florida on Friday, August 16, 2013 at 11:00 AM. Viewing will be prior to the service at 10:30 AM. Entombment will be in Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Fort Myers, Florida . Online condolences may be made to the family at www.fortmyersmemorial.com. Her heritage will live on through her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, as well as the many children she taught.
