Normand M. Labbe
Normand Marcel “Norm” Labbe passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with cancer on Friday, May 10, 2019 in Lehigh Acres, Florida where he lived for 30 years. Norm was born January 23, 1957 in Central Falls, Rhode Island to Emilienne LaCasse Labbe of Pawtucket, Rhode Island and the late George Labbe.
Norm was self-employed as a floor installer for more than 40 years. He enjoyed traveling to visit his family in Rhode Island but loved the warm sunshine in Florida. Norm loved to cook, play games and always loved a cold beer by a nice bonfire. He also loved cruising and enjoyed several over the last 10 years. He enjoyed his weekly phone calls with his mother in RI, where they spoke for hours and always in French. He was also a kind and helpful friend, but what he enjoyed most was spending time with his wife, daughters, son-in-laws and grandchildren.
On September 2, 1978, Normand married Nancy Mary Burke, who survives. He is also survived by two daughters; Mindy Rice (Tim Rice) and Katie Reiter (Lee Geiger), four grandchildren; Trey Rice, Mason Rice, Braelynn Geiger and Reagan Geiger, all of North Carolina. He is also survived by his three siblings; Real Labbe of Florida, and Leon Labbe and Janet Schofield of Rhode Island and several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the wonderful work of Hope Hospice of Lehigh Acres for making Norm’s final days as comfortable as possible. Norm’s life will be celebrated privately by his close family. Memorials can be sent to Hope Hospice, 1201 Wings Way, Lehigh
