Leola G. Gadbois

Leola G. Gadbois, 87, a resident of Kissimmee, FL since 2018, formerly of Fort Myers, FL and Acushnet, MA passed away Tuesday, March 1, 2022 at Osceola Regional Medical Center. She was born April 3, 1934 in New Bedford, MA to the late Arthur and Rose Alba (Cote) Picard. Lee will be remembered for her love of family and her faith. She was a devout catholic who attended local parish weekly masses as long as she was able, choosing then to watch on TV at home. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and cross-stitch and she did beautiful work. She enjoyed music and entertained family and friends with her singing and piano playing. She enjoyed her retirement years in Florida with her husband and siblings, playing cards, bingo, and shuffleboard. In her later years she appreciated all of her walks and outings with Denise and Michael. Lee was a proud and loving Wife, Mother, Mémère, Great Mémère, Sister (and in-law) and Aunt. Her smile and laugh would light up any room. She will be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved her. Her family was her greatest love and she was our greatest treasure. Her memory lives on through her family and all those she touched. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilfred J. Gadbois, Jr.; as well as eight siblings, Rita Rondeau, Alice Brodeur, and Ernest, Aldege, Bertha, Albert, Normand and Gerard Picard. Leola is survived by her four loving children, Marc Gadbois (Debra) of Fairhaven, MA, Paul Gadbois (Donna) of N. Dartmouth, MA, Robert Gadbois of New Bedford, MA and Denise Janey (Michael) of Kissimmee, FL; four siblings, Alexander Picard of Washington, D.C., Lucille St. Onge of Acushnet, MA, Lucien Picard of Cherry Hill, NJ, Claire Lagesse of Bonita Springs, FL; 11 grandchildren, Savannah DeSouza, Lucas Gadbois, Dorian Frenette, Genevieve Davis, Karissa Gadbois, Jessica Gadbois, Jocelyn Gadbois, Jillian Gadbois, Thomas Gadbois, and Grant Gadbois; two great grandchildren, Olivia Ramos and Mac Davis; as well as two precious great grandchildren due September 2022. The Family will receive friends for a time of visitation from 2:00 – 4:00 PM, Thursday, March 10, 2022 at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 1589 Colonial Blvd., Fort Myers, FL 33907. The Funeral Service will be held at 4:00 PM following the visitation.
