Al was simply an extraordinary principal and human being. I had the good fortune to teach language arts teacher under his principalship long ago, first at Caloosa Middle School and then at Trafalgar Middle School. His support of teachers was unparalleled, as was his sense of humor. While I haven't seen or talked to Al in 30 years, I have never forgotten him - or Lynne. My deepest condolences to Al's family and many friends who will miss him.
What a guy! He was such a great leader. He set the example himself, on how he expected his staff to perform. Everyone who worked for him respected his wisdom, his gentlemanly decorum, sense of humor, and his BIG heart. If someone had any problems, personal or professional, he would sit with you, listen compassionately, and give advice like a father. He was the best of the best, to everyone who knew him and he never let you down. It is with great sadness and compassion that I extend my sympathy to Lynne, Jennifer and Trey. They have lost their anchor and love. The world has also lost an brilliant and kind man who will be remembered fondly forever.
