It was an honor and privelage for me to be able to call Alice a "friend".I met Alice through her fantastic niece Sandra. Through the years, Alice and I shared many a moment talking about politics (we shared the same views), our country and the world in general. Alice was never one to sugar coat her feelings and she earned that right. Her service for this country in the Army for 26 years speaks for itself. She was able to retire as a Lt. Col after taking care of our soldiers as a nurse in many far away countries. She was a loving, gentle and kind person – with a bit of an attitude when needed.I do and will continue to miss you "Auntie Alice" and I am a better person for getting to know you. You, your sister, Fran and Sandra will always have a special place in my heart. You have earned your reward in heaven – make the most of it and enjoy.LoveBob Martin
I will miss you very much, Auntie Alice. We had some good times going to the book stores, shopping, and lunching. Glad we took that ride out to Matlacha one last time. You and Mom can keep each other company now. Miss both of you a lot. Rest in peace. The rest of us will carry on in this cruel world. Love you always. Thank you!Sandra
My heart is filled with sadness for me, (because I will miss her) yet joy for â??Aunt Aliceâ? as she is now in a better place and reunited with her dogs Missie and Pepper whom she loved dearly. Where do you start to describe one of the very first ladies I met when coming to the US in 1970. As a result developed the best friendship ever, with her niece Sandra Blouse ( and honored to call her my best friend), thus my induction to the family and giving me the privilege of calling her â??Aunt Aliceâ?.She accomplished so much in her life, yet was always humble about it. Her service in the US Army, dedication and devotion as a nurse, earned her the rank of Lt. Col. How proud and grateful we are for her service during WWII and Vietnam. Aunt Aliceâ??s sense of humor was â??one of a kindâ?, her laughter contagious, and while she put on a tough front, she was as tender as could be. Her love for her niece Sandra was unwavering. They both spent many years keeping each other company as well as partners in â??shopping and dining outâ?.There are no words that can express the sorrow I feel to Sandra and the rest of the family. May God give them peace that passes all understanding during this difficult time.RIP Aunt Alice…. I love you!Dore Straley
