Ann Gleysteen Summers' Obituary
Ann Gleysteen Summers, 70, of Fort Myers, died Monday, December 8, 2014 at her residence. Memorial services have been scheduled for 3:00 PM Saturday, December 20, 2014 at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 1589 Colonial Blvd., Fort Myers, FL 33907. Ann was born February 9, 1944 in Sioux City, IA, the daughter of John W. and Carolyn (Wilde) Gleysteen. She attended SMU from 62 – 63 and then earned a bachelor’s degree from University of Nebraska, attending from 63- 66. She married Jack Summers during 1991, and he preceded her in death in 2005. Ann was a follower of the Presbyterian faith. She was a member of Fiddlesticks Country club and enjoyed playing on golf teams, tennis, and playing bridge. She was an avid antique collector, was a worldwide traveler and enjoyed entertaining family and friends. Surviving are her children Christian Jacob Bloch of Charlotte, NC, Katherine Ammeli Bloch of Orlando, FL; siblings, Dr. John Jacob Gleysteen and his wife Maureen of Birmingham, AL, Dr. Michael Gleysteen and his wife Cindy of Minnesota, Mary Helen Gleysteen of Fort Myers, FL; grandchildren, Annie Marie Bloch and Jacob Alexander Holman. She was preceded by her parents and her husband, Jack. The Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home has been entrusted with the care of Ann.
