Obituary
On the evening of August 20th, 2024, Arlene Esther Moskwa passed away peacefully due to natural causes, at her residence in Cape Coral FL. She was 78 years old. She was a mother, grandmother & great grandmother. She is preceded in death by her mother Tessie, father Reuben, brother Marvin and her sister Gail. She is survived by her two daughters Michele & Renee, Son-in-law Kevin (who she loved and adored as her own), Sister-in-law Sheryl, Her 8 Grandchildren; Reuben , Whitney, Gabrielle , Samantha, Paige , Tiffany, Joseph and Anthony. Her 18 Great-Grandchildren; Cienna, Cayden, Rayelyn, Journey, Isabelle, Jamiyah, Kevin Jr, Tyce, Caspian, Ella, Cali, Ezra, Jalayah, Elijah, Ariana, Silas, Delaney & Aria. She was known as Nanny to her grandchildren and as GG to her great grandchildren that she loved so much! She was born and raised in Brooklyn NY, where she graduated from James Madison High School in 1964. She started working at NYU where she’d end up meeting her lifelong best friend Joselyn. She would go on to have two beautiful daughters who she raised primarily on her own before moving to New Jersey in 1983. Then made the big move to Florida in 1987 where she spent majority of her middle aged years. In 2012 she made the move to Virginia where she spent 7 years making meaningful friendships and wonderful memories. She then moved back to Florida for the final time in 2019. Arlene lived a humble life many would describe as ordinary but she touched and affected so many lives, people from all walks of life. She had a unique way of encouraging and uplifting others with her passion, sincerity and love. Arlene had a way of turning strangers into friends, and friends into “family.” And Arlene’s family was everything to her. Renee and Michele were the light of her life and her grandchildren and great children followed closely behind. She was the spiritual leader of her family. The first one to ask “ Have you prayed about it?”. She’s the first one any of us would call for guidance. She felt like Gods right hand- Woman to us. She loved, forgave and took in anyone just as Jesus would’ve. She was the prime example of Gods love. She played many roles at the church’s she attended. In church work she was so loved. She was always ready to with an encouraging word to those who needed it. She was always at her “Post” every week, come rain or shine, and no matter how poorly she felt she was always ready to serve. She loved being in the house of the Lord. She also had a way with words and spent time as a private editor and writer. She received much recognition & gratitude for her significant work. Besides writing, she enjoyed spending time with her family, playing candy crush & word games, that she’d often play with family, as well as going to the pool to soak up the Florida sun. Nearing the end of her life she faced health difficulties. She fought long and hard and hid her pain until she could no longer. When it got the best of her, we kept her in the word and surrounded her with the same love, care and passion she gave to her family and all who’s ever known her. She would sing The 1st Peter 2:24 song that she sang to her grandchildren and great children all of the time. She took pictures with funny faces to keep her laughing on her tough days. She FaceTimed out of state family to bring a smile to her face. She was comfortable and happy in her last moments with a smile on her face. Without doubt we know God held his hand out and said to her “ it’s time my good and faithful servant, Job well done”. In this time it’s important to remember Arlene as she would’ve wanted us to, as someone who was always smiling, who wanted everyone to smile more and of course always ready to spread the love of Jesus. Rest in sweet paradise Arlene, you are missed and remembered by so many hearts that you’ve touched.
