Barry had a deep connection with his family, especially his brothers. His unwavering loyalty and willingness to stand up for them and what he believed in demonstrated his strength of character. Being nicknamed "Barry Good" by his mom speaks to his kind and compassionate nature. He was a devoted family man and loved spending time with family & friends outdoors, fishing, camping, and of course a good bonfire. He enjoyed poker, baseball, especially rooting for the Cincinnati Reds, and classic shows like Gunsmoke.
Barry was an incredible musician with a rich musical journey. Having a passion at a young age, Barry took pride in his music, drawing influence from his dad and other notable musicians like Eddie Goucher of Aura. He played guitar and sang gospel, rock and country with his 3 brothers through his years. Being part of bands like Aura, Emerson, and Sons of the South were some of his happiest and rewarding times, especially opening for renowned artists like Molly Hatchet, Foghat, Diamond Rio, Allman Brothers, Pat Travers, McGomery Gentry and others. Barry's country voice resonated deeply with audiences, touching their hearts with every performance. His genuine love for people and the connections he formed through music truly highlight the power of music to bring people together. He was grateful for and cherished the friendships music brought him. Hopefully he knows the positive impact he had on those around him.
