As Jeff said at the service, Betty made a point to become friends with his friends (such as myself). One of my favorite memories of Betty was when my husband and I had dinner at her house, the day after Jeff and Carolyn's wedding. Betty had invited a few of us over to enjoy some of the delicious food that was left over from the wedding. Even though Jeff and Carolyn had left for their honeymoon, we were able to spend a lovely evening with Betty and Vahan and get to know them a little better.
Betty you were great friends of my mom and dad and I know they loved you very much. Many good times at both of our houses.
You have raised a very caring and thoughtful son and I know now he is hurting but he will always have great memories and will pass them on to his son.
I really appreciate seeing you at both of their funerals and I know you are up in heaven enjoying yourselves and having a few cocktails.
Please tell them I said hi and I will see them again!

Betty was the very most welcoming of all my friends mom's. I spent more time in her home than any of my other friends homes, I think that was true for a lot of us. So many of my memories from that time happened in her home, because we were always welcome there. I will always remember her for that.
