Bridget Alice Balletto's Obituary
Bridget Alice Balletto, 71, a full-time Florida resident since 2005, formerly of Long Island, New York passed away peacefully, Monday, May 24, 2021. She was born in Brooklyn, New York to the late Walter and Alice Amaty. Bridget met her husband Thomas in 1969, and
they married and raised three children in Massapequa Park, New York.
Bridget will always be remembered as a devoted wife, loving mother, and grandmother, and was an inspiration to many people because of her strength and kindness. Bridget surrounded herself with family, and she developed friendships that lasted her a lifetime. She loved boating, swimming, and crocheting. She was active in Cape Coral with the Aqua Aerobics group at the Yacht Club, the Corvette Club, and the Sail and Power Squadron, where she made many great new friends. Bridget also enjoyed advocating for common sense and ethics and many of her letters were published in the local newspaper. She was admired, loved, and respected by all who met her. Words cannot express how much we will miss her but we will remember her always. Bridget’s legacy will live on through her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by her loving husband of 50 years, Thomas Balletto of Cape Coral, FL; three children, Nicole VanBuskirk (Jason) of Pennsylvania, Charles Balletto (Rebecca) of New York and Bridget Basso (Phillip) of Pennsylvania; six grandchildren, Thomas, Nicholas, Phillip, Meredith, Amelie, and Alice; as well as many extended family members and friends.
