Burnice Lee Humphrey's Obituary
Burnice Lee Humphrey, 88, of Fort Myers, Florida, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 3, 2025, at HealthPark Medical Center. Formerly of Portland, Indiana, he had made Fort Myers his home for the past 25 years.
Burnice was born on June 29, 1937, in Akron, Ohio, the son of the late Oswald and Bernice May (Corum) Humphrey. He was a proud graduate of Akron University, where he earned his bachelor’s degree in business. His professional journey began as an industrial paint salesman, and through hard work and dedication, he went on to establish his own successful company, Patriot Paints.
As a young adult, Burnice was a member of the Jaycees, a leadership and civic organizations. A man of faith and community, Burnice was a member of North Webster United Methodist Church, as well as the VFW and Moose Lodge. He was an avid golfer and a member of Myerlee Country Club, where he enjoyed many rounds with friends. Beyond his love of golf, Burnice cherished time spent traveling, boating, and being surrounded by his family.
He is survived by his children, Terri (Michael) Bone of Somerset, Kentucky; Debra (Fred) Johnson of Warsaw, Indiana; and Mark (Tammy) Humphrey of DeLeon Springs, Florida; step children, Michelle (Greg) Gates and Brian (Karin) Henderson; his sister, Elaine Leetch of Wadsworth, Ohio; ten grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Donna Humphrey.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 8, 2025, at 12:30 PM at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 1589 Colonial Blvd., Fort Myers, FL 33907. Family and friends may visit from 11:30 AM until the time of service. Burial will follow at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens.
