Carmelo Fragale's Obituary
Carmelo Fragale, 88, passed away peacefully July 5, 2011 in Orange, Virginia. ?á Carmine was born in Sicily on January 4, 1923, the son of John and Elsie Fragale. His family immigrated to the United States when he was a boy. He spent his early years in the New York City area. He enlisted in the Army and served the United States military during World War II. ?á He worked and was as a business owner in Queens, New York for many years before moving to Virginia. During his years in Virginia he was the co-owner of Carvel Ice Cream, co-owner of Tubby?ÇÖs Restaurant and owned Chubby?ÇÖs Restaurant. ?á Carmine and his wife later retired to Fort Myers, FL where they enjoyed time with family and friends. After the passing of his wife he later returned to Virginia where he spent the remainder of his years. ?á He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers and a sister; and his loving wife Palma. ?á Carmine is survived by his three children, Phyllis Lamb with life partner David Chewning of Louisa, Virginia, John Fragale and his wife Susan of Charlottesville, Virginia, and Josephine Ward with life partner Jeff Walker of Ruckersville, Virginia. ?á He is also survived by his six grandchildren Shawn P. Lamb, Dana M. Lamb, Danielle Fragale, Kristen Fragale, Jonathon Thomas Fragale and Jesse Ward Lamm; and four great-grandchildren. ?á There will be a graveside service Monday, July 11, 2011 at 10:00 am at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens. ?á ?áIn lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the American Heart Association either online or by mail; www.americanheart.org?áor 3025 Berkmar Dr. Charlottesville, Virginia 22901. ?á Arrangements are being handled by Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home.?áCondolences may be left at www.fortmyersmemorial.com
