Carol Jean Fowler's Obituary
Carol Jean (Kingsbury) Fowler passed away peacefully on December 5th, 2024, at the age of 72, and is now welcomed by an accompaniment of angels, including her parents the late Marvin Kingsbury and the late Angela Frankrone Kingsbury of Louisville, KY. Carol was born on January 1, 1952 in Louisville, KY, the oldest of 6 children. She is survived by her husband Ronald D. Fowler, her siblings, William T. Kingsbury, James M. Kingsbury, Diane L. (Kingsbury) Reynolds, Alan J. Kingsbury, and Marvin L. Kingsbury, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Carol was a 1969 graduate of Sacred Heart Academy, in Louisville, KY, and attended Eastern Kentucky University earning an Associate Degree. She was a dedicated wife of 51 years, proud mother of Dr. April Fowler Felton and her husband Dr. Shawn Felton, and she was the epitome of a Nannie to her beloved grandchildren, Delaney A. & Zachary C. Felton. For the last 20 years, Carol was a permanent resident of Bonita Springs, FL and one of the founding members of the Copperleaf Golf community in the Brooks.
Carol, an established and well-respected business entrepreneur, helped lead the family businesses, Atlas Concrete, Kingsbury Concrete Construction, & CJAMs Trucking, for 40 plus years. In her retired life her love of numbers carried over to her community involvement with Mahjong, Hand and Foot, and Copperleaf Ladies Golf Association (CLGA) events. Carol never met a stranger and was extremely welcoming to everyone she met. She was the ultimate party planner and her attention to detail and organizational skills were unrivaled.
Carol was an avid reader and collector of many books. One of her favorite authors was James Patterson and this quote is poignant for how she viewed life. “The weird, weird thing about devastating loss is that life actually goes on” – James Patterson.
Another quote often referenced by Carol was the “Sun will Come out Tomorrow.” Let’s hope it does…..we miss you more than you will ever know. Until we see you again…..we love you!
