Barbara Rosenfeld
It's 7 years later and was looking up old friends I grew up with in Post War Bronx. We grew up together on Colgate Avenue and played mock baseball in the lot near Watson Avenue. We were both Yankees fans, but she got to play Mickey Mantel and I was to be a Brooklyn Dodger. Of course, she always won. So sorry Max and Sarah had to go through this along with her little sister Arline. We'd role play in eachother's apartments and she was always a soldier and I was the nurse. We were in 4th grade class together and because of her presence I got to have 10th grade reading level in the 4th grade. She wrote to me some years later pretending to have a boyfriend named "Tommy". We both knew this wasn't so. So proud to learn she was a pioneer. Sorry to learn of her long illness and death. I always thought she'd be a photographer like her dad. His studio smelled like Hypo. Sorry for a big loss and her memory lives with all of us. Baruch Dayan Ha'Emet.
