Carol was my sister-in-law. I remember her as being sweet, kind, caring, and giving. She was married to my oldest brother Steve. My wife Donna and I were surprised and saddened to hear of Carol’s passing. I had a long phone call with her about a month ago. In this last call, she talked about her health issues, but I didn’t get the sense that they would result in her death so soon. Carol loved teaching in Ohio and Florida, she loved her family and she loved Steve. I know she had a hard time with my bother’s long decline and his death principally from Alzheimer's disease. This was the same disease that took my mother and initially caring for her was one of the reasons Steve and Carol moved to Florida. Carol missed the life she had with Steve including the social life, golfing, and travel. While her current health issues made life difficult and sometimes unhappy; she seemed enthusiastic about Damian’s graduation and his job prospects, and about her move back to Ohio to be with her family. We even talked about what she wanted to do with her new home in Ohio. That’s why her passing surprised me. Donna and I offer our condolences to Damian, who Carol and Steve loved and cared for, and to Carol’s sisters, Marilyn and Margie. I now how hard it is to lose a sibling. Both of my brothers are gone. Carol will be missed but remembered fondly by those that knew her.

I have not actually seen Carol in person for many years. However, I have frequently been updated on her family, career, and life activities through her sister Margie, my dearest lifelong friend for the past sixty years. Most recently, Margie and I discussed the possibility of Carol moving back to Hubbard to be closer to her two sisters. Unfortunately, that was not meant to be.
When I think of Carol, I remember her laughter and enthusiasm for life. She was always so bright and creative and full of fun. On one of her trips to California to visit her Aunt T., we all went to Knott's Berry Farm. It was mid-January and the temperature was a chilly 22 degrees at night. Carol, Margie and I all went on the famous log ride with a surprise drop down a 25-foot waterfall!! We were SOAKED and shivering, but Carol, who was well- protected in a full-length coat, took it off and shared it with us two drowned rats!! That was Carol. . . Generous , kind and so thoughtful like the rest of the Plesic family!
We will miss you, Carol, but I have no doubt that you are looking down from the heavens where you are surrounded by angels and resting peacefully among the stars!
Carol and I met after my husband and I moved into the apartment building where Carol lived in Mineral Ridge. Carol and I became friends and eventually opened a teacher supply store called Teaching Things. We had a good time together running the business. And then Carol met Steve and she happily moved to Florida. They played a lot of golf and she told me they had gone on 13 cruises. It was on a Mediterranean cruise that they lost her luggage! My last visit with her was 2 years ago. Carol is surely in heaven for all her kindness and good works. Diane Ross
