Carol Anne Sinopoli's Obituary
Carol Anne Sinopoli, 68, died November 19, 2021, with her loving children and goddaughter by her side in Fort Myers, FL.
Carol was born to the late Edward and Dorothy Gordon on December 25, 1952 in Manhattan, NY. As a young girl, she moved to Ridgewood, NJ. Carol graduated with high honors from the Academy of Mount Saint Vincent in Tuxedo Park, NY. After graduation, she went on to pursue her passionate desire to care for others and earned a degree in nursing from Farleigh Dickinson University. In 1972, she married her soul mate of 48 years, the late Dominick P. Sinopoli Sr. They began a family and raised five adoring children in Waldwick, NJ.
Carol was a devoted and loving mother and a woman of incredible strength. She was a patient listener and trusted confident to all of her children, family and friends. She was always quick to give advice and to solve ANY problem should the need arise. She loved to say, “I can run your life if you just let me!” Above everything, Carol cherished her family and the times they spent together.
Carol was a valued employee of the Christian Healthcare Center in Wyckoff, NJ before moving with her family to Ft Myers, FL in 1994. She was employed by Heartland Healthcare from 1995 until her illness. Carol was well loved and respected by all who worked for and with her. Her value for the dignity of every human life she ministered to through her practice of nursing was evident to every patient and family who had the privilege of her care.
Carol loved Jesus with all her heart. She was a longtime member of McGregor Baptist Church. She enjoyed quiet moments at the beach, virtual book club with her high school friends, traveling to Europe, cruising the islands and touring the National Parks with her husband, chatting on the phone with her sisters, spending time with her treasured friends from work, church, and Myerlee Country Club.
Carol is survived by her children: Dominick P. Sinopoli, Jr., Christine Mercadante and husband Steven, Jennifer Sinopoli, David E. Sinopoli, and MaryElizabeth Sinopoli, her grandchildren Christian, Alanna, Joseph, Clara, Layla and Eleanor, and her sisters Barbara Gordon and husband Harold, Allison Manzi and husband Patrick and Lorraine Cohen and husband Peter, her brother-in-law Douglas Sinopoli and many beloved nieces, nephews, aunts, cousins and friends. Carol is predeceased by her sister Dorothy Sinopoli and brother Edward J. Gordon, Jr.
Arrangements are with Memorial Gardens, 1589 Colonial Boulevard Fort Myers, FL 33907 with calling hours on Saturday, November 27, 2021 from 4-7PM. A celebration of the life of Carol will be held at McGregor Baptist Church, 3750 Colonial Blvd Ft Myers, FL on Sunday, November 28, 2021 at 2:00PM
