Charles H. Tweed's Obituary
Charles ?Ç£Charlie?Ç¥ Tweed, born September 14, 1929 in Alberta, Canada, passed away on November 11, 2011 after a short illness. He is survived by his loving wife, Lucy Tweed.?áThey recently celebrated 58 years of marriage and were long time residents of the Chicago area and have lived many years in the Fort Myers area. Charlie is also survived by his sister, Lillias Rafkahr of Banning, CA, sister-in-law, Willa Tweed of White Rock, B.C., and many loving nieces and nephews. Charlie attended the Chicago Academy of Fine Arts, majoring in Illustration and Advertising Design and received his degree in 1952.?áHe was employed as an Art Director/Illustrator on many of Chicago?ÇÖs major advertising accounts, winning several awards for advertising design. Since 1992 he has executed well over 750 paintings and won over 100 awards, including 10 Best of Show awards.?áIn recent years, Charlie has enjoyed the world of miniature paintings in watercolor. Memberships include: Miniature Art Society of Florida, Miniature Artist of America, Signature Member 2009, Associate Member of the Miniature Painters, Sculptors and Gravers Society of Washington, D.C.
