Clara B. Northington's Obituary
Clara B. Northington of North Fort Myers, Florida passed away peacefully with her loving family at her side on Wednesday, May 25, 2016 following some recent health challenges. She was 89 years old.Clara was born on April 15, 1927 in Huntington, West Virginia, the beautiful daughter of Beatrice (Brewster) and Harry Gray. She was the loving wife to Baxter R. Hicks who sadly preceded her in death in 1967. Clara worked for many years as a Secretary for the Lee County School Board. She was the proud mother to and is survived by her sons William “Tom ” Hicks (Sandy) and Roger A. Hicks (Dee); granddaughters Shelby Hicks and Laci Hicks and 2 great grandchildren Brayden Grant and Teagan Smith.Friends of Clara Northington are invited to join her family in remembrance and appreciation of the life lived by this very special woman. Please stop by the Iona House at Calusa Nature Center, 3450 Ortiz Avenue, Fort Myers, Florida 33905, between the hours of 1:00 – 3:00 PM on Saturday, June 18, 2016 to be a part of the Celebration of Clara’s Life and to share your memories of her with others. Flowers may be sent to 1622 Piney Road, North Fort Myers, Florida 33903.Thereafter at a private service Clara will be laid to rest alongside her beloved husband in the North Section of the Garden of the Good Shepherd at Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Fort Myers.
