Clarence L. Jacobs' Obituary
Clarence L. Jacobs, Jr., 79, of North Fort Myers, FL passed away Sunday, January 19, 2014. He was born May 9, 1934 in Pittsburgh, PA to Clarence and Mildred (Boyer) Jacobs. He was a U.S. Army veteran serving in the Korean War from 1953 – 1955. In 1955, he married Helen Louise A. Jacobs, with whom he celebrated their Golden Anniversary in 2005.Mr. Jacobs leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 58 years, Helen Louise A. Jacobs; his children: Linda Swarlis and her husband, Gary Piggrem, Beverly Gawne and her husband, Douglas Gawne, III and John Jacobs and his wife, Victoria Jacobs; his grandchildren: Amber Swarlis Ramos, Andrew Swarlis, Douglas Gawne, Daniel Gawne; step-grandchildren: Vi Vi Tran, Thy Thy Tran, Jeffrey Piggrem and Brian Piggrem and his great granddaughter, Delilah Ramos. He was preceded in death by his sister, Patricia Jacobs Garland.Before retiring, he worked for American Brakeshoe and was an insurance agent and broker for Nationwide Insurance Company. He was a lifelong Mason, member of Vernon Planning Commission, Vernon Township Rotary, Vernon Central Hose, and American Legion, former member of Fifth Presbyterian Church in Conneaut Lake, PA, and member of New Hope Presbyterian Church of Fort Myers, FL. In his spare time he enjoyed being a private and commercial pilot as well as a flight instructor.
