Curtiss M. Hovey died at the age of 92 on April 12, 2023. Curt was born on October 23, 1930, on the Hovey Family Farm outside New Effington, South Dakota. He was the eldest of 4 children to Ingvald O. and Agnes (Wrolstad) Hovey. H Read Obituary
Uncle Curt was my godfather and I have such fond memories spending time with him and family at the Pair-O-Dice cabin on Lake Maud, MN. Curt taught me the proper way of operating the motorized row boat....well, he was teaching Andrea and I was tagging along and making sure to soak up the knowledge! Been way too many years since I last saw him, but he is a Hovey and I am a Hovey and that means we can never be too far apart no matter where we are. Rest in peace uncle Curt!!
Marge and Family, so sorry to hear of Curt’s passing. He was such a sweet man, and will be missed. He made us some lovely carts for Van Loon to make moving chairs and tables easier. Our thoughts and prayers are wilh you at this difficult time
Gramps was one very proud Norwegian family man! He always told silly jokes to us as kids, and he loved to point out that certain foods made “your hair curly.” I have so many fond memories of him over the years and look forward to telling my girls about him. Rest easy, Gramps…you will be missed.

Curt was my father-in-law for 25 years! I remember him clearly as a family man. After viewing the MANY picture slides of their travel adventures, it was obvious he brought the great outdoors to his children to experience. He also cherished his grandchildren, ready to crack a Norwegian joke while cranking a hand made ice cream machine. His other talents included building any kind of structure, and I mean ANYTHING! He was proud of the camper he built from scratch...hauling that thing anywhere and everywhere! I'm pretty sure he is in heaven telling Ole an Sven jokes to anyone who will listen! Godspeed Curt!
