Daniel E. Parks' Obituary
Daniel Eugene Parks, 89, of North Ft. Myers, FL died at home with his wife by his side on September 27, 2025. He was a born in Effingham County, Illinois in 1936 to Warren and Iola Parks.
Dan attended Elgin High School before joining the U.S. Navy. He was an Enginemen on the Submarine USS Charr (SS328). After being stationed in San Diego and touring the South Pacific he spent 35 years working at Owens Illinois Inc (a plastic closure company) working up to Department Supervisor in the Finishing and Rotary Dept., St Charles Illinois and Hamlet N.C. After retiring from OI, he worked an additional 10 years for the City of Cape Coral at Coral Oaks Golf Course. Upon retiring again, he moved to Pine Lakes County Club and enjoyed retirement golfing, gardening and traveling.
Dan was preceded in death by his parents, Warren and Iola (Siddens) Parks, his brothers, Kenneth Parks and Clayton Parks. He is survived by his wife, Cynthia (Shelton) Parks; daughter, Tracy (Parks)Moreno; son, Daniel E. Parks Jr (Lynette); grandsons, Dylan Moreno (Hannah), Jordan Moreno (Emily) and Daniel (Trey) Parks III. Also survived by his great grandchildren, Aubrie Parks, Parker Moreno, Bella Moreno, Lilly Parks, Oakley Moreno, Daniel J. Parks and soon to be Oliver Moreno.
Dan lived a full life loving and being loved by his family and friends. He was a quiet man, but his love spoke volumes. He will be missed every day and his memory will live on in the hearts of all those who loved him.
Services with Military Honors will be held on Friday, October 17, 2025 at 1:00 PM at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens, 1589 Colonial Blvd., Fort Myers, FL 33907.
