I have known Dave since 7th grade. Back then we were in the band together at Taft Jr High School in Canton, OH. Dave and I were in the Percussion section, sharing duties on the snare drum, bass drum, triangle, tympani, or whatever else they would let us bang on back there. He was a good drummer! We were always joking around about the band and its characters, the compositions we were attempting, etc. We also loved to talk of the Brownies, and he and I knew the roster and would discuss in great detail going way back to the Browns glory years. Ann and I had some good times out on Sanibel Island also, when we would visit. Dave was the definition of "laid back", he always had a good perspective on things and cracked jokes with his wry sense of humor. A little shy, he always "got along"–with anybody. Easy to be around. His passing has caused me to rethink a lot about what is important and worthwhile, and offers perspective on how we live. Joanne, we are thinking of you and your family in this time of loss–Know that Dave was loved; you are loved. Greg and Ann Hicks
