I met Dave through Plenty of Fish and we were friends, Eastern Airlines was our airline and I know I flew with him while I was there. When he came to Venice to meet me, first thing he said was I know you from Eastern, that was over 40 yrs ago. We had a great time, took him to Snook Haven, he loved the food and it was nice just talking about flying and sailing. Dave was special to me as being the best man friend I had, he complemented me so many times in how hard I had worked and had come through with a nice place to live. He visited me in my new Villa in Venice and Celtie was right there with Dave, what a sweet dog. We sat out on the lanai which overlooked a beautiful lake and watch the sunset. We would call each other and talk for hours about life in general and sailing, cause I had learned to sail. My last conversation with Dave was in July and I told him I was going to visit Cape Cod and Maine, he gave me several places to go and see the beautiful sail boats, one place I didn't see was Marblehead I hope some day to see it, He wanted me to call after my trip to the Cape and Maine and give him my impression and when I did I never got in touch with him. I've tried for months to get in touch and I didn't understand until I called a person in Ft Myers and then she gave me the news of Dave's passing. To ALL who knew and Loved Dave – I offer my sincere belated condolences to his close family and friends. Dave and I had a special bond from the begining we were introduced to each other over 40 years ago. I just now read with great sadness the news of David's passing. I was a new hire in 1979, based in Boston and 25 years old. Dave was the best friend I flew with and always thought highly of him. May God Bless. Billy Witcher

Dave got a dog, Caltee, who was a rescue dog, being he was top of the line show dog. After Dave had Caltee for awhile, I started noticing, Dave would be asleep in his favorite chair, Caltee asleep on the floor. After this event was starting to get routine, I processed the question to Dave, who is the bad influence in this napping? Dave with his big smile, points at Celtee, and says he's the guilty of this crime.

Dave got his new dog Caltee, who also was his best friend. After Dave had Caltee for a couple weeks, each time I would go visit, Dave would be asleep in his favorite chair, and Caltee stretched out on the floor. After this kept happening, I finally said to Dave, I've got a question? Who is teach who on this napping ordeal? Dave looks at me, and with that big smile of his, points at Caltee, and says, he's teaching me.

Dave: May you RIP and I send my love to your family and friends that are all missing you. My Neighbor in ATL , My Friend , My co- worker at Eastern Airlines, My Travel companion for many ventures, My confidant when times got tuff. Calls back an forth from Singapore as I settled in SW FL and it started a family and a new career. Thank you for the trips on Song Bird, the use of the diesel cutlass to drive to the mountains, my frozen feet in Bavaria and mostly Don's recipe for scalloped tomatoes- I make every tomato season. See you Saturday!
