Dawn Louise Eland, 48, of Estero, passed away Sunday June 3, 2012. She was born October 13, 1963 in Brooklyn, Michigan to the late George and Donna Bates. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her grandparents, Cecil and Alice Benett; and her uncle, Joseph Tarantino. She arrived in Lee County in the early 1980?ÇÖs after living briefly in Spokane, Washington. She leaves behind her husband?áof 27 years, Alan Eland; daughter, Afton Eland of Minneapolis, MN; son, Nathan Eland and his wife Jen of upstate New York; beloved in-laws, Charles and Delores Eland of North Carolina; cousins, Joellen Tarantino-Coy of The Villages and Tony Tarantino of West Palm Beach, Florida, her Aunt Doris (Dody) Tarantino of Orlando; and grandson Donte Eland. Her passions included, going to the beach and collecting sea shells, canoeing, horseback riding, vacationing in the Carolinas and enjoying quiet time by the fireplace.?áMost important was time spent with her family. She was a devout Christian who attended McGregor Baptist church in earlier years. For the past 15 years, Dawn worked as a State Farm Insurance agent out of the office of Mark Reynolds. A?ávisitation will be held on Friday, June 8th from 10:00 to 11:00 AM at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 1589 Colonial Boulevard, Fort Myers, Florida, 33907.
