Those of us who worked with Dean at the Florida DOT Southwest Urban Area Office ("SWAO"), long before the intensifying "urban" here, Dean generously shared his vast institutional knowledge, including in historical project files from many yesteryears. We openly stated he was the Dean. He was humble: As a passenger in his really nice personal car once, I asked him what kind of car it was. HIs reply: Oh, just a fancied-up Ford.
I offer my sincere condolences to everyone saddened by is death.
