Digna M. Ward's Obituary
Mrs. Digna M. Ward of Cape Coral, Florida, passed away Tuesday, July 11, 2017 at Hope Hospice of Cape Coral after some recent health challenges. She was 72. Digna was born in Ecuador, Friday, September 22, 1944; the beautiful daughter of the late Jose Cardenas and Ana Velez. She worked in New York as a secretary with the Internal Revenue Service before retiring to southwest Florida. Digna was an active member of the St. Andrew Catholic Church Community in Cape Coral. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, Jose’ Cardenas. Digna leaves behind to cherish her memory, her beloved husband of 38+ years, Winston S. Ward; her three daughters, Maria Gordon, Joann Piedra and Monique Ward. She is also survived by her sister, Teresa Cardenas Velez; a granddaughter, Jozelyn Logan and her great granddaughter Jezelle Logan. She will be dearly missed. Visitation will be 5pm until 7pm Friday, July 14, 2017 in the chapel of Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home 1589 Colonial Boulevard, Fort Myers, Florida 33907. Funeral ceremonies will be held 10AM Saturday, July 15, 2017 at the funeral home. Digna will be laid to rest in the Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
