Lit a candle in memory of Donald Gary Lukacovic
Our thoughts and love are with you during this difficult time…I can still remember Donnie in the kitchen in North White Plains when he was probably 5 or 6 such a cute little boy…and always so gentle and smiling when we'd see him at family events during our visits to Fl. Our love to you and your family, Lyn and Bert
Many prayers, hugs, tears and love are here for you. Much love, Martha
I am so sorry to hear this, God bless you all and help you though this tough time. Sending Hugs and prayers. Jeannie & Donnie Castillo
I began at the Sheriff's Office in Oct. 1982 in Communications. Five months later my brother was killed in the line of duty and Donnie reached out to me and assured me that although my big brother had been taken away from me, I had an entire agency of big brothers that would always be there for me. I hope he knows how much I appreciated that and all the times the "Gentle Giant" was there to help me with any issues I might have. RIP Bro!
RIP Big Man, Lots of people will miss you. Major Larry C. Miller LCSO retired
Donnie and I go back to 1972-1974 where we worked together at the Lee County Ambulance Service, as it was known at the time. There were few of us and we worked our 24 hour shifts out of a house behind the old Dairy Queen and then the old Children's Home in Page Field. When you work with someone running all types of calls and also live with them during your shift you get to know them quite well. I remember when we would sometimes find ourselves in a hostile environment Donnie was the one you wanted with you. Something about his size and demeanor seamed to calm things right down!! I left and went to college and got out of touch with Donnie, while my wife, Ann (Uzzell) Myers worked with Donnie at the Sheriff's Office. All three of us retired from a career in law enforcement. We both will forever have fond memories of Donnie Lukacovic! Out thoughts and prayers go out to his family and many friends that will miss him deeply!Jim & Ann(Uzzell) Myers
Rosemary..I am saddened to hear about Don, may your loving memories help you heal and know that I'll keep you and the kids in my prayers. It's been a long time since we've seen each other, much love to you! Goldie
When I was a teenager and part of a group of freinds of Dawn…I was the only male he apparently liked because I made it well known that I had zero intrest in Dawn except freindship… I think it wad also because itook the time to include Nikki, Heather (yes I still wear a cup thanks to your "greeting") and David in my interactions with Dawn…over the 20 years of my freindsh…no they aren't freinds..the Lukacovic's are family…he was always a straight shooter and if you EVER heard the words "you I like" come out of his mouth you knew you were a "made man""Dad" always gave me the one thing I know he didn't give lightly…his respect…to this day I value getting that from him more than I do most material things… I will forever cherish the talks we had and the resilience he showed after his stroke…I love you "Dad"…till we meet again
