Doris Solomon's Obituary
Doris Solomon, 95 a resident of Florida since 1995, formerly of Mt Vernon, NY passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 1, 2021 in Ft Meyers, FL. She was born September 13, 1925 in Bronx, NY to the late Fanny and Jacob Yellen.
Doris was an excellent organizer which she utilized in her work and daily life. She retired after many years of work for Equitable Insurance as an administrative assistant. She loved mahjong and led the mahjong group in her community until she was 90 years young. She loved cooking, caring for her family and entertaining family and friends in her home. She was inquisitive, competitive and loved playing Michigan Rummy with her family. Upon retirement, she and her husband Nathan loved taking long walks around the lake in their community. She was a loving daughter, sibling, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Sydney and two sisters, Evelyn and Ruth. Doris is survived by her three children, Iris Mather of Ft Myers, FL, Donald Solomon of Chicago and Paul Solomon and his wife Roberta of East Brunswick, NJ; five grandchildren, Jacques, Stephanie, Yoni, Zachary and Heather; two great-grandchildren, Dominic and Rafael.
A Memorial Service will be celebrated 3:00pm, Tuesday, May 4, 2021 at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, for those unable to attend please join us virtually in celebrating Doris’s life via the link below (the link will be available 5 minutes prior to the service beginning),
