Linda: I remember our first meeting Scoop when Charlie Schwarz invited him to their house while Carolyn and I came over for our first visit to Mass after our Ordination in 1966. But my fondest memories were when he was Secretary of the NES. Each year I'd finish my Bishop's Report and send it to him and every years he'd call me and tell me I'd have to speed it up to be the first pastor to submit it. My best placement was fourth. The another special time was when our Bishop assigned the two of us to reconcile a Synod rattling event when a family was excommunicated for their church. Talk about a heart wrenching experience for both of us. The last time we all were together was back in 1999 when we took part in Charlie Schwarz's funeral Service in Monroe, CT. He was one special person in so many ways. And I'm sure our Lord has him right by his side so that Scoop can fill in the blanks as to whether St. Peter should open the gates of heaven and let us all come in. Hold high your head as you walk through this valley of death. For all is well as you look up and see Scoop smiling down upon you and saying, "Fear not little lamb." I was so saddened to hear of your loss. I was in 8th grade confirmation class at Salem Lutheran Church in Bridgeport, CT. with Pastor O and he performed my wedding ceremony Jan. 2, 1981 at Salem Lutheran ( Bridgeport), he also helped officiate my Sister's (at Salem Lutheran).
