Pastor E. Earl Okerlund of Mount Jewett, Pennsylvania and North Fort Myers, Florida passed away suddenly on Wednesday, December 22, 2015 following a tragic pedestrian accident during his usual morning walk. He was 77 years old.Pastor Okerlund was born on December 10, 1938 in Kane, Pennsylvania, the proud son of Dorothy (Root) and Raymond C. Okerlund. He was a longtime clergy member for the Lutheran Church having only recently retired from ministry after years of working at the denomination’s state and national synod. He was the loving husband to and is survived by his devoted wife Linda L. (Singler) Okerlund and was the proud father of three children.A Memorial Service will be celebrated by Pastor Charles May on Monday, December 28, 2015 at Messiah Lutheran Church, 2691 NE Pine Island Road, Cape Coral, Florida 33909, (239) 995-0133.
