He leaves behind four beloved children Marcus (Allison) Callahan of Estero, Florida, Amy (Bo) Jackson of Georgetown, Massachusetts, Eddie (Brooke) Callahan of Glandorf, Ohio and Sean (Amanda) Callahan of Gonzalez, Louisiana. He was the loving grandfather to eight grandchildren: Margaret Jackson, Declan Jackson, Finn Jackson, Aiden Callahan, Connor Callahan, Eulalia Callahan, Kellin Callahan and Kylan Callahan.
He cherished his family deeply and cultivated strong, meaningful relationships with his siblings. Ed was one of six siblings, surrounded by the love of two sisters (Molly and Maureen) and three brothers (Michael, Kevin and Emmett), together they formed a close-knit family. His bond with each sibling was marked by shared laughter, stories, and the creation of cherished memories.
Ed held family reunions and vacations in particularly high regard. He understood the value of these moments, recognizing them as opportunities to strengthen family connections and create lasting bonds. Ed's commitment to family was evident in his consistent dedication to organizing and participating in these special gatherings. Whether it was the joyous reunion at Higgins Beach in Maine that brought everyone together or the memorable family vacations that created lifelong shared experiences, Ed ensured that these occasions were filled with love and laughter.
Through these gatherings, Ed not only built enduring memories but also fostered a sense of unity and closeness among his family. His legacy lives on in the echos of shared laughter, the tales recounted, and the strong ties that continue to bind the Callahan family together.
Ed earned his degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of New Hampshire. His insatiable love for learning and passion for travel opened doors to numerous exciting opportunities during his early career. Ed considered himself blessed to have walked the Great Wall of China, experienced life in Paris, France, and explored the diverse landscapes of Nigeria, India, and South America.
In the professional realm, Ed was not only a dedicated team member but also a mentor who genuinely cared for those he worked with. His influence extended beyond projects, leaving a lasting impression on the lives he touched. For the past 29 years, Ed devoted himself as an Automation Engineer at Youngquist Brothers Inc of Fort Myers, contributing his skills and wisdom to the team, leaving an indelible mark on the company.
Ed's passions extended beyond the workplace. He enjoyed boating, the calm of the beach, and enthusiastically supported the Boston Red Sox. Tossing a ball for his cherished dog, Paddy, was a source of joy for him. With his beloved wife, Debbie, he shared an interest in exploring the world, visiting friends, and attending live concerts.
If you were with Ed, there was no doubt you'd have a great time. His larger-than-life personality, coupled with the most infectious laugh, ensured that everyone around him would have a good time.
