Edward Joseph Hamilton's Obituary
Edward Joseph Hamilton, 89, a 35 year resident of Fort Myers, FL, formerly of Paterson, NJ passed away Tuesday, August 10, 2021 in Fort Myers, FL. He was born October 6, 1931 in Paterson, NJ to the late Edward and Dorothy Hamilton.
Edward retired in 1983 from the Paterson, NJ Police Department after 25 years of service. “because of his valor, courageous determination to preserve the life of a citizen of this community, and complete disregard for his own safety, which actions are in the highest tradition of the Paterson Police Department, Police Officer Edward Hamilton be an he is hereby officially commended by the Board of Fire and Police Commissioners of the City of Paterson,” are just some of the words to describe Edward Hamilton during his service.
Edward had a love for good food, wine, friends and family, boating, fishing and hunting. He won 1St Place in Bocci Ball and always had a story or joke to everyone laugh.
is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Theresa Hamilton of Fort Myers, FL; four children, Kim Hamilton of Woodland Park, NJ, Albert Kerr and his spouse, Li of Fort Myers, FL, Lisa Casale of Fort Myers, FL and Michael Kerr of New Jersey; two granddaughters, Ashley and Jennifer; as well as four great grandchildren, Stone and Madison Chavarria and Dominick and Sebastian Moral.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated 10:30 AM, Friday, August 27, 2021 at St. Columbkille Catholic Church, 12171 Iona Road, Fort Myers, FL 33908.
