Elizabeth Murphy's Obituary
Elizabeth “Beth” Murphy passed away on Tuesday, July 16. Born in Savannah, Ga. on August 20, she was a resident of Fort Myers since 1993. Beth is survived by her husband of nearly 40 years, Edward Murphy; her three children and their spouses, Sean and Michelle Murphy of Fort Myers, Chris and Colleen Jones of Atlanta and Brian and Kimmy Murphy of Montclair, NJ; and her four grandchildren, Lauren (5), Dylan (4), Addison (2) and Cole (1). After spending 17 years as the household controller raising her children, Beth traded in her minivan for seashells. For the past eight years, Beth served as the manager of the Blue Dolphin Cottages on Sanibel Island, where she was commonly referred to by the guests as the “Amazing Beth.” The nickname rang true to everything Beth did in her life, an incredible wife, mother, grammy and friend. She truly never met a stranger, and loved to share stories of her experiences and family.Beth’s life will be celebrated on Saturday, July 20 at 10:00am at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens.In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Beth Murphy to the Clinic for the Rehabilitation of Wildlife (C.R.O.W.) would be greatly appreciated.
