Eugene Edward Hika, 73, a Ft. Myers, FL resident since 1994, formerly of Burlington, Connecticut passed away peacefully at his residence on Monday, March 4, 2019. He was born November 2, 1945 in Bristol, CT to Edward and Mary Hika, now deceased.Eugene was a Vietnam Veteran with the United States Marine Corp. He was the owner/operator of Tidy Lawns Landscape Services, Fort Myers FL from which he retired. He loved to tinker with small engines and his John Deere.Gene was a lifetime member of the DAV, VFW, VVA and the Polish Falcons-Nest 307. He was also an active member of the Vietnam Brotherhood Bravo Company. Former member of the Burlington, CT Volunteer Fire Department and former Director of the Harwinton Fair.He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Martha Hika of Ft. Myers, FL; two children, Jennifer Harden of North Ft. Myers, FL and Peter Hika (Christine) of Ft. Myers, FL; as well as four adored grandchildren, Taylor Harden, Cassandra Harden, Jake Hika and Alison Hika.Eugene will have inurnment services with Military Honors at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.Memorial Contributions may be made to The Michael J.
