Mr. Frank Metes' Obituary
Frank Metes 70, North Fort Myers Florida formerly of Wilmington Illinois, passed away peacefully on February 9, 2025, after a life well lived. Frank grew up with a passion for craftsmanship, a love of the water and a deep devotion to family.
A proud member of the Chicago District Council of Carpenters, he took immense pride in his work. He and his beloved wife Margaret (Foley), Thomas Edwin (Tom) relocated to North Fort Myers, where they embraced the beauty of life on the water. An avid boater Frank could often be found navigating the Kankakee and Caloosahatchee rivers, finding peace in the rhythm of waves.
Frank was preceded in death by his parents, Stephanie and William Metes; his twin sister, Sue; his brother, Bill; and his son, Tom. He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Maggie; his sister, JoAnn Sullivan; and his loyal four-legged companion, Mischief.
Frank‘s kindness, craftsmanship, and love for adventure will deeply be missed by all who knew him. His memory will live on in the stories told about the waters he traveled, and by admiring the true beauty of the iconic buildings, skyscrapers, stadiums, and the humblest of homes built and remodeled with his skilled hands.
A memorial service will be held Friday, February 21, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Memorial Gardens, 1589 Colonial Blvd. Fort Myers, FL 33907.
