Frank Thomas Romano's Obituary
Frank was born and raised in Utica, NY, graduating from Proctor High School in 1954. He earned a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Clarkson University in Potsdam, NY. He worked at GE and was called into active duty in the Army at Fort Gordon in Augusta, GA in the early 1960's. His employment with GE and Hitchiner Manufacturing took he and his family to Saugus, MA., Wayne, NJ., St. Charles, MO, and Nashua, NH. In 1977, he went into business with a former Hitchiner colleague at Tallix, Inc. in Peekskill. NY. They worked with artists from all over the world (many from the greater NYC. area) casting bronze statues using the lost wax process. During his time in NY, he also studied accounting at Pace University and later began tax and accounting business in Fort Myers. FL. He worked at this business from 1985 through 2020, and developed great working relationships and friendships with his clients. He was also very active in the Cape Coral Rotary Club and treasured his time with the people there.
Frank was predeceased by his mother, Antoinette Peters Romano, who died in 1983 and
his father, Thomas A. Romano, who died in 1996. He is survived by his spouse, Regina E
Romano, having been married almost 62 years. He is also survived by his sister, Marie (Dick) Trinco, of New Hartford, NY and her sons (Michael, Daniel and Thomas Dreimiller) and their families; his daughters, Elaine LaFata of St. Charles, MO. and Judy A. Romano of Fort Myers, FL; his granddaughter, Stacy (Austin) Hess of St. Charles, MO, and his great granddaughters. Callie Marie Hess and Kate Alee Hess.
Besides being a great husband, brother, father and grandfather, he was a loyal sports fan
and had season tickets to the Florida Everblades for many years. He will always be loved and missed by his family.
A celebration of his life will be planned at a later date.
