Gary Joe Bishop, age 70, passed from this life on Friday, December 24, 2015. Born on May 24, 1945 in Olive Hill, Kentucky, Gary was a much-loved volunteer and leaves behind his Edison-Ford Winter Estates family, including special friends Holly Shaffer, Carley Jones, Larry Mendenhall, Maxine Surprise and too many others to list, though, each one was equally loved and appreciated.Predeceased by his parents Oval and Lydia (Newman) Bishop, wife Roberta, and brothers Oval Jr., Jack and Earl. Left to embrace his memory are his sister Bettie (Charles) Tackett; brother Jim Bishop and Bob (Arlene) Bishop; sister-in-law Dorothy Bishop; and numerous nieces and nephews.The family would like to extend special thanks to the dedicated staff at Lee Memorial Hospital and the Hope Hospice at Healthpark.A Memorial Service for Gary will be celebrated by Pastor Van Garner of North Fort Myers Church of the Nazarene at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, December 29, 2015 in the Chapel at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 1589 Colonial Boulevard, Fort Myers, Florida, (239) 936-0555.
