George F. Renda's Obituary
George F. Renda of Fort Myers, Florida passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, June 21, 2016 following some recent health challenges. He was 76 years old.George was born on August 10, 1939 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, the proud son of Vincenzia (Stato) and George H. Renda. He was a proud Veteran of the United States Army and later worked as an Electrical Engineer spending the majority of his career employed at Princeton University. He was a dedicated family man, a good friend to many and somebody who will be greatly missed by all fortunate enough to have known him.George leaves to remember his loving soul his cherished wife Irene (Zeile) Renda; his beloved children George F. Renda Jr. (Pamela), Cheryl Pollice (Gregory) and Anthony Renda (Kelli); his loving grandchildren Jacqueline Hixson, Alycia Beyrouty, George F. Renda III, Jessica Pollice, Bryan Renda and Lauryn Renda; his treasured great grandchildren Lucas Hixson and Zachary Hixson and his sister Maryann Caleros. George also leaves behind a number of extended family members and countless friends who will greatly miss his company.A Visitation for George will be conducted from 4:00 – 6:00 PM on Sunday, June 26, 2016 inside the Chapel at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 1589 Colonial Boulevard, Fort Myers, Florida 33907, (239) 936-0555. A Memorial Service for George will be celebrated at 11:00 AM the following day, Monday, June 27, 2016, also in the funeral home chapel. At the conclusion of this service, family and friends will recess to the adjacent cemetery where George will receive Military Honors prior to his entombment in the Field of Honor Mausoleum.In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you instead consider a contribution in George’s memory to the American Cancer Society, P.O.
