My father, know to all as "Buddy Rogers", served in the the U.S. Coast Guard during the Korean war. After his tour of duty, our family moved to his hometown, Shelbyville Indiana "The Hoosier State". He wore many hats, from bar tending to banking and a partnership owner of Hoosier Piano and Organ. My father and mother Shirley, made many trips to Canadaâ??s beautiful lakes to enjoy the great sport of fishing for Trout, Northern Pike and Walleye. They also traveled abroad to Vienna, Austria and Amsterdam in the Netherlands. We made Fort Myers Beach our new home in 1974. Dad's favorite sport was Indiana basketball. He loved to dance, jazz music, golfing and fishing. He worked as a travel agent and professional painting contractor and was a long time member of the VFW, American Legion and Moose Lodge on the Beach. His favorite saying is "When God closes a door, he opens a window".My mother and father loved to dance, music was in their soul.It kept them young as the years rolled onTheir song never grew old.I know they're dancing in heaven tonight, holding each other so tight.Stepping in time across a starlit floorMoving to the rhythm of love.Dad, though I'm going to miss you so muchI know you will be alright â??cause you're dancing with mom in heaven tonight.Until we meet again, Your loving daughter Debbie
