Gerry was a true Blessing in our lives. He was the first person to greet us in Florida. The first day we had moved into our new home, there was Gerry with a list of people we may need to contact, in the area. He always had a smile on his face and made you feel that life was special. We will truly miss his laughter, humor and kind heart! He was one of a kind and will be missed! We feel blessed to have known him and will never forget this wonderful man.
You can have your army khaki's and your navy blues, but here's a different Fighting Man I'll introduce to you. He trained at Parris Island, the land that God forgot, the sand was 14 inches deep the sun was blazing hot, and when Gerry gets to heaven, St Peter he will tell, another Marine reporting sir, I've served my time in hell……. Gerry was one of the nicest people I will ever have the pleasure of knowing. He made everyone around him happy, and he always thought the best of people. He always made me believe that I was going to do well in whatever I chose to do. I don't think Gerry ever met a stranger, he could talk to anyone. He truly enjoyed people, and he loved his family with all his heart. They don't make them any better than Gerry, and I know that he will be sorely missed by all of his friends and family.
