Hassell Lavern "Vern" Herron's Obituary
Hassell Lavern Herron “Vern", 85, passed away on Thursday, December 11, 2025, at Gulf Coast Medical Center in Fort Myers, FL. He was born on October 31, 1940, in Wilson, Arkansas, the son of the late Leamon L. Herron and Bethel (Sandusky) Herron.
A United States Air Force veteran and avid motorcycle enthusiast, Vern devoted his career to the Chrysler Corporation in Detroit, MI, and was actively involved with the United Auto Workers Union (UAW) where he served with dedication for many years. He was respected for his leadership, integrity, and commitment to excellence. After retiring in 2000, Vern moved from Melvindale, MI to Fort Myers, FL.
He is survived by his loving wife, Donna Marie (Lasko) Herron, daughters: Kellie (Victor) Palmisano, Rhonda Floer, Penny (Mark) Koch, and stepdaughter Dana (Brian) Stefanko, grandchildren: Ashley (Kory) Kulp, Cody (Morgan) Steen, Riley (Emily) Buckner, Kyle Koch, Alice Stefanko, and, Ty Steen (deceased), as well as 7 great grandchildren: Macy, Koby, Khloe, Cody Jr., Bricen, Logan, and Charlie.
Vern will be remembered for his devotion to his family, his professional accomplishments, and the steady presence he brought to the lives of those who knew him.
At Vern’s request, no services will be held. A celebration of life to remember Vern will be held in Fort Myers, FL at a later date.
