Helen Jean was beloved by all that had the honor of knowing her. She was a longtime resident of Fort Myers, Florida and worked in Lee County Government for many years before retiring from the Communications Department as Director of Mail Operations. She loved her family and friends with a grace and dignity that made all that she encountered not only “feel” but “know” how special they were. Helen Jean was a member of the Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church for nearly 60 years and her faith was apparent in the way that she lived her life and in her every action. She had an amazing ability to make everyone feel heard, accepted, and loved.
She was always honest, non-judgmental and a voice of reason even in troubling or stressful times. She has been there for her family and friends, serving as a moral compass and an anchor in turbulent times. Having fulfilled her time as our Angel on earth, Helen Jean is now an Angel in Heaven.
At Helen Jean’s request, in lieu of flowers, donations should be made to the Choir and Youth Group at Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church, 4141 Deleon St, Fort Myers, FL 33901.
The family of Helen Jean wishes to extend our sincere thanks to the staff at Gulf Coast Medical Center for helping Helen Jean with a peaceful transition, especially in light of the challenging times.
