Helen Irma Nicolaus' Obituary
Helen Irma Nicolaus, 100, a resident of Fort Myers, FL since 1999, formerly of Iowa, passed away with her family by her side at her residence on Monday, July 20, 2020. She was born in Davenport, Iowa on April 3, 1920 to the late Fred and Fern Bohnsack.
Helen was a member of Corpus Christi Chapel in Fort Myers. Over the years, she was involved in many clubs and philanthropic activities, worked as a realtor, and managed family farm property. She loved to travel and entertain and was an exceptional homemaker and hostess. Her artistic skills included flower arranging and millinery design. Her hobbies included stamp collecting and collecting antique dishes. She loved politics and had been active in party politics. She was also an avid Iowa Hawkeye football fan. In her leisure time she enjoyed golf, bridge, mah-jongg and many different card games. Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Henderson Nicolaus and her son, Robert Henderson Nicolaus, II.
She is survived by her loving daughter, Sheryl Nicolaus of Fort Myers, FL.
A Latin Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:30 AM, Wednesday, July 29, 2020 at Church of the Resurrection, 8121 Cypress Lake Drive, Fort Myers, FL with Fr. Romanoski as the celebrant. To be a part of the Mass via live stream click the link below.

Helen will be inurned at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Davenport, IA.
