James R. “Ripcord” Woodby, , 71, of Fort Myers, FL, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on May 15, 2012.?á He was proud to live in Fort Myers all of his life.?á Jim proudly served in the U.S. Army for a total of 9 years in Vietnam, 101st. Airborne ?áDivision.?á While in the Army, he earned many badges and medals.?á He was employed by the Fort Myers Police Department from 1968 ?Çô 1976 and was very proud to serve the City of Fort Myers as a Sergeant. ?á?á?á?á?á?á?á?á?á?á?á He is survived by his wife of 42 years, who he deeply loved, Sarah Wilder Woodby, his two children: Jarett Woodby and Jaime Rimes (Rodney), his sister, Linda Flaitz (Marc Murray) and his grandsons, Dustin, Hunter and Colton Rimes.?á He was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Twyla along with his brother, Roger Woodby. ?á?á?á?á?á?á?á?á?á?á?á A celebration of his life will he held at Saint Michael Lutheran Church on Friday, May 25 at 5:00 PM with Rev.
