Jim was such a gentle, kind person. A person who touched my heart, his acts of goodness, support and encouragement will never be forgotten. The time that you spend with a friend is never lost for it forever lives on in you. I will miss you Jim.Kathy James
I have known Jim for 18 years, attending Grace Church. No man better represented what it meant to be a Christian, and a good human being. He was always with a smile, and a kind word. Jim was a joy to know. He will be missed. Heaven has gained a true gentleman, and earth has lost a treasure.

hi Janine, this is Jean Kreuzer… Ella called me and told me of your Dad's passing.. i have such wonderful childhood memories and your dad was such a good and kind neighbor to all of us kids… the best of memories… God bless you and please know that you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers…
Mr. James Sowers as we all called him in the neighborhood we all grew up in..Dayton, Ohio on E. 4th Street. He was so kind to all the kids..and Jim and his wife Betty were good friends of my parents (Bill & Wayne) Ramsey, After my parents passed Jim and I would talk on the phone and talk about the good ole days and just look back at the fun we all had and how he so enjoyed watching all of us kids grow up. We all called him Mr. Sowers when we were kids..But over time I called him Jim, you will surely be missed. I so will miss your phone calls. Rest In Peace dear one. Forever in our hearts. I have known Jim for several years as a member of our Sunday School class, "The Young and the Rest of Us." I was fortunate to get a hug every Sunday and see his smiling face and twinkling eyes. He was loved by all of us and also Jesus. I am so glad he is with our Lord and his family membrs and friends that went to heaven before him. I will miss those hugs but I know I will get another one when I get to heaven.Pat Sylvester
