Jeannie became a friend to me while we attended New Hope. I was the new kid in town and she warmly greeted me with her loving and warm conversations. As we swapped stories about our mutual farmwife backgrounds, her love for her husband, family, and friends was evident. As her body failed, her smile and laughter continued on and that is how I’ll always remember her. I’ll miss my friend for now but will spend eternity with her in the presence of our Savior Jesus.
Jeannie was always willing to help. I first met her through Fort Myers Woman's Community Club. We were getting ready for a ball and she was one of the people in charge of food (to feed the volunteers). I remember her in her frilly apron! Then we worked together on different teas for the club. However, this year she was on the membership committee that I was leading. I can not say enough about what she has done. She was always there to support me with a phone call, a text or showing up as recent as November. She came to the sip and shop after the hurricane when we were trying to raise everyone's spirits. I wish I had more photos of her smile. She always had a smile. God Bless her as I know she is with him. I pray that we can all support Craig and the family in their time of need. Jeannie was certainly an angel.
When we first moved to Gateway ten years ago we learned that the house we had bought had been built by Jeannie and Craig Martin years before. Jeannie and Craig were probably the first neighbors to greet us. Jeannie had a big heart and great soul. Our street will never be the same without her.
Our prayers go to Craig and all of the family. She will be missed but will forever be in our hearts.

Jeannie was a dear friend for 25 years. We had so much fun at New Hope with Mops and decorating for so many functions. I dreamed about her last night. I can into church and there she was—- healthy just beautiful. I said “ they told me you passed away— She grinned that grin of hers and said” No. I am more alive than I have ever been”. And she is.
