Joan Elizabeth Welsh's Obituary
Joan Elizabeth Welsh, beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully under hospice care on Saturday, October 17, 2025. She was born in 1941 in Edmonton, Canada, and lived a life marked by adventure, resilience, and deep devotion to those she loved.
In 1959, Joan married the great love of her life, Bill Welsh. Together they raised three sons — Steven, Scott, and Ryan — and later moved to the United States, settling in Hudson, Ohio. Their marriage was rooted in love, partnership, and shared dreams of building a life through hard work and dedication. After Bill’s passing decades later, Joan remained a vibrant part of the Hudson community and successfully ran two of her own businesses.
Known for her warmth, wit, and strength, Joan had a remarkable ability to brighten any room she entered. She faced life’s highs and lows with grace and unshakable spirit. Her home was always a place of comfort — where laughter echoed and her legendary cooking brought joy to all who visited.
Joan was a devoted mother and grandmother, teaching her family by example to always look for the silver lining. Her legacy lives on in her son Scott, her grandchildren Bill, Ian, Scotty, and Marie, and her great-granddaughter Gemma — all of whom brought immeasurable joy to her life.
A celebration of Joan’s life will be held at 1 PM on November 24th at 8771 Rose Court, Fort Myers, FL.
