There is a Bible verse that resonates deeply in the hearts of service members. It is a verse that captures the quiet, profound weight of sacrifice, and I believe it perfectly represents who my dad was and exactly how he lived his life.
The verse is Isaiah 6:8. It says, “Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, ‘Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?’ And I said, ‘Here am I. Send me.’”
My dad lived an entire life echoing those five words. Here am I. Send me.
