John David Joy's Obituary
John David Joy, 61, of Cape Coral, died January 26, 2016 at his residence after a courageous battle with cancer. John was born December 27, 1954 in New Kensington, PA, the son of Opal (Stone) Joy. He married Anne Corwith October 29, 1983 in Coconut Grove, Miami. John was a manager at Morrison’s Cafeteria for 17 years. During his leisure time he loved to coach baseball with Cape Coral National Little League. He was a championship winning coach with his son John of his grandson’s team. John also enjoyed to golf, hunt, and fish. John was a loving husband, brother, father, and grandfather. Surviving are his spouse Anne Joy of Cape Coral; siblings, Pamela Joy of New Kensington, PA, Bill Joy of New Kensington, PA, Nevin Lawson of New Kensington, PA, Kevin Lawson of New Kensington, PA; children, Lisa Joy of Cape Coral, John Joy (Jeannine) of Cape Coral, Jeff Joy (Lori) of Rockledge, FL; four grandchildren, Kirsten Lyons, Timothy Lyons, Ian Joy, Virginia Joy and great granddaughter, Bella Lyons. The Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home has been entrusted with the care of John. Condolences may be left to John’s family at www.fortmyersmemorial.com. John will be missed by all of his family and friends.
