After Many years or you being gone I can now post on here. Your loss has affected so many things and continues to. The fact of the matter is you had 4 daughters, Elaine, Stella,Susanna and myself. You had 2 step children ( Elizabeth Reyes and Ruth Lara). I never got to say goodbye because of your step daughter’s decision to alienate your blood children. We will get our final closure. Rest in peace pop.

You will be forever in my heart. You are a true blessing in mine and my families lives. I may not have been born from your blood but you chose US, and for that I are forever grateful. I have so many wonderful memories where do I begin! Thank you for spending time with me and helping me with math. That was my worst subject but somehow you always made it fun and I understood it. Thank you for teaching me how to drive so I could pass my driving test. Thank you for picking up Jr so many times after school and at the bus stop and taking him to Chick-fil-A every day after school (now I know why he has such expensive taste in fast food.) I’ll never forget the time we went bowling you were so excited and we all know what happened that night. We didn’t get home till after one in the morning and Grandma was not too happy. Or at every party right after the piñata the grandkids would line up so you can go through the goody bags and get all their Tootsie Roll‘s. I could go on and on but those are the ones that stand out the most. I am at peace knowing they didn’t have final moments I held your hand and told you that I loved you and that it was OK to go and not be in any more pain. I know that whenever I see a cardinal in my backyard it will be you watching over me and my family. Thank you for choosing us and loving us unconditionally we love you grandpa/ Papa John🕊️ ❤️
Grandpa, you brought light into our lives. We all share wonderful memories with you. I remember when you came into grandmas life just at the right time. There’s was no question when you became grandpa instantly. Blood will never define how much you meant to each of us, 8 grandkids, 15 great grandkids, and 1 great great grandchild. A loving father and such a loving husband. Thank you grandpa for being in our lives and made loving you so easy. We will continue to carry the memories we shared together with us. Grandpa, you have been a light in our lives! Someone who was always there supporting and cheering us on. I would like to take a moment to say that I met John over 32 years ago when he started to date my Mother in-law Ellie . Through out all these years John has a special place in my HEART. John had so much love to give and I’m Happy to say that I Loved him . I’m am sad that I will miss my talks with John . I would like to say that who ever had the chance or really took the time to get to KNOW this man you would know how much love he had to give.

We lost a loving person in our life, we shared so many good memories. Mom always said you adopted us into your life. It was the other way we not only adopted you but you became our life. The last couple of years were hard for you, I know you were in lots of pain but we always made sure you were comfortable. Thank you for being a great husband to mom a great dad to us a great papa to the grandkids and we will tell Kaiden about his Papa John. My dad and I are so heartbroken to hear of John’s passing. John and Elle have been great Brookdale friends. We have enjoyed our companionship and the many conversations together. We’re so sorry and we will miss John terribly.

The passing of my father is truly a sad day in my life. I remember my father picking my sisters and I up from our home in Channahon to go for a visit with him in Wilmington. Those were precious moments. I remember my father moving to Crest Hill after his divorce and when he first began dating his current wife. It was a great time going on a double date with the both of them. Wishing I had more time.
